10 Special Challenges in Elderly Patients With Diabetes

Historically, geriatric adults with diabetes have been given similar treatment goals as younger adults. However, there is increasing recognition that geriatric patients differ from younger patients, and there are important differences even within the geriatric population. Therefore, it is critical for health-care professionals to understand changes associated with aging and how these can impact diabetes treatment in order to best individualize care.
